After a semester and a half of searching for a goal about a year and a half ago, I decided to retool my education goals to going to Art Center. After a successful research visit in Thanksgiving 2013 and educational changes I have started to work on a portfolio. I however have felt somewhat lost in where to go and what to do to apply to Art Center. However, through a family friend I got invited to a launch party at DesignWorks USA for the upcoming G11/G12 7 Series. I was graciously a guest of BMW USA and got to sit inside (Shit was so cash) the new car, as well as chatting up the event organizers. Through random conversation, I had a discussion with a tall man with a soft German accent. After praising BMW’s design, my plans for Art Center, and letting him know my love of my 330Ci, I then asked him if he was a designer for DWUSA-it ends up he was the CFO and gave me his card and told me to email him and he’d be happy to put me in contact with someone who could help me in my goal.
